Journeys

I think of a good friend this morning as he embarks on a journey. Journeys often call us into unfamiliar territories. This produces within us a natural state of discomfort that often can provide a more objective view of ourselves and our surroundings. This is one of the essential soil amendments for our hearts to be able to be productive. Sometimes circumstances in life create this environment, other times we choose to specifically place ourselves in circumstances that are conducive for contemplation. This can be through a retreat with a specific purpose, a moment of meditation, a time of fasting and prayer, or even a time of worship. It is in these moments we often allow the Holy Spirit to massage the soil of our hearts through introspection. As with anything, these times require a balance of journey, contemplation, decision, action, and review of the outcome. These moments may require scheduling or they may happen several times throughout one's day. However they come, be encouraged to take that journey. Be guided by the Holy Spirit that teaches us all things and will bring to your remembrance all that Christ has said to you. (John 14:26)


It is one of our opportunities to be adventurous within our own minds and spirit. Whatever your physical journey is today, know that there are destinations available within your own heart and mind today. No matter what the circumstances may be, you can choose where your heart and mind goes, despite your circumstances. Keep your mind focused on the Word that lights your way to the Truth and the Holy Spirit to navigate through the Truth that applies to today. This is the Way...
