About 4 years ago I set out with passion and energy to give this farming thing a go. I know myself and if I didn't give it a shot, I would have regrets that would cause me discord for the rest of my life. I've got enough of those...
I will still farm, maintain the PMA, even send out emails from time to time. We have over a hundred members but a very small percentage of them have ever purchased products but there are a few who do. We thank each of you for seeing and believing in the vision enough to sign up. I thank the people that have purchased from us a little more and those that purchase from us regularly even a bit more.
I am especially thankful to my wife who has supported me and my vision throughout this process. She has helped me in every aspect from being my editor, moving fencing and shelters, to being by my side for 14 hour days processing chickens in July. I don't know that I would've believed enough in myself to have even done this alone.
Some of the reasons that have led to this decision is that the website cost went up $300. Another reason is that feed costs have gone up and I don't think anyone wants to pay what it takes to break even. Heck we haven't done that in the 4 years we've been doing it, but it has increased our knowledge, our friends, and our gratitude for other food producers that are dedicated to having integrity in their practices.
We'll continue to offer ministerial pricing, just trying to break even here, but when we can't do that, it just becomes an expensive laborious hobby.
With the website closing, the storefront will no longer exist. Our primary way to communicate will turn to emails directly from me to you or vice-versa(not through the website). That email address is embracefarmsc@gmail.com. Or text or call me at (864) 9013-3734 You may have to leave a voicemail until I've got you in my phone as a contact.
One of the things I recently read from Wendell Berry talked about the requirement of hope if you imagine a future. Future is one of those things that can be whatever you imagine it to be because it is not yet here, so it lies within our imagination. We err when we think that we can have a better future than what is present unless we steward what we have presently well.
We will continue to steward what we presently have as well as we know how, while trying to learn something everyday to be better stewards.

We have a batch of chickens that will be processed in early July. I will send out a Pre-Order Form before then to see if you want to reserve yours.
