Can you really believe the labels???

I want to thank you for taking a moment to consider my ponderings and reflections and hope that you may take away something encouraging. There is a lot going on in our country and to be honest I'm probably less informed than many that read this. I confess that I limit my intake of media because there seems to be more motive to promote an agenda more than promoting truth. It reminds me of the first amendment that we cling to,

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

I grew up seeing reporters as people that had an intense burden the not just find the truth of matters, but to proclaim a well informed and accurate account of a situation. Motivated to inform the reader, viewer, and hearer. I haven't had that perspective of "the news" for sometime. Each of us have our own perspective considering the authenticity of what media produces and I'm thankful that we live in a time where we are free to do that. I also thank the people that are responsible for the people that have made and continue to make that possible.

I think that we can collectively agree that we are less confident in what the media produces than what we once were. I ask myself why this is and it coincides with some other ideas I have concerning compromise. This brings to mind something that I have wanted to say for a few months and have forgotten to mention. I have not and will not use "AI" to produce blogs or anything else that I am sharing. It's just not authentic and Embrace Farm strives to do everything with integrity. Often that means, the less convenient way and that's okay. We prefer to have the character of the once noble news reporters like Peter Parker or Louis Lane. Ha!

In keeping with that thread, I want to share with you some data that I've found to inform you concerning the definitions of pastured eggs vs. conventional eggs. The picture below is a good guide, however may not answer all your questions.

It should be concerning that the USDA defines "Free Range" as "having access to or having the freedom to roam about in an area of at least 2 feet. Having access to 2 feet doesn't sound "Free Range" to me, but that's up to each of us to decide. Below is a look at nutrient density.

There is some data for your consideration. In many cases, misinformation is more available and more profitable than the truth. We're just looking for the truth and that leads to being able to make an informed decision.

Fresh Turkey and Chicken will be available over the next 2 weeks. Contact me via email or on the website for pre-order.

Blessings to you and yours,

Your local farmer,

Gordon
